Posting a job

  • How do I post a job?
    Tap Post a Job, pick the closest service, enter your zip, and answer a few quick questions about scope and timing. The whole flow takes under a minute.
  • Can I edit my job after posting?
    Yes. Open the job from your dashboard and tap Edit. If you change scope significantly after pros have already quoted, the existing quotes may need to be revised.
  • What if I do not know what kind of pro I need?
    Pick the category that feels closest and describe the problem in your own words. If we cannot match the right specialist, our team will reach out to help re-route the job.

Hiring a pro

  • How do I compare pros?
    Each quote shows the pro's rating, completed-jobs count, license / insurance status, profile, and quoted price. You can message any pro to clarify scope before deciding.
  • Can I see reviews from real customers?
    Yes — every review on HeyAmigo comes from a verified booking. Pros cannot pay for or remove reviews.
  • What if I do not like any of the quotes?
    You are not obligated to hire anyone. Wait for more quotes, edit your job to attract better matches, or close it without consequence.

Payments & refunds

  • How do I pay the pro?
    Right now, all jobs are paid in cash directly to the pro — HeyAmigo does not process payments yet. Agree on the final price in writing through the in-app chat before the work starts, and pay the pro only after the job is complete and you are satisfied. Card payments and escrow are coming soon.
  • What is HeyAmigo's cut?
    Homeowners pay nothing to HeyAmigo. You pay the pro directly, in cash, at the price you both agreed — no service fee, no markup.
  • How do I get a refund?
    Because payment happens in cash after the work is done, the simplest answer is: do not pay until you are satisfied. If you have already paid and the job was not as agreed, message the pro through HeyAmigo first and contact our support team if you cannot work it out — we will help mediate.
  • Can I tip the pro?
    Of course. Tips go directly to the pro at the time you pay.

Trust & safety

  • How are pros vetted?
    Before a pro can quote, we verify their identity, business license (where the trade and state require one), liability insurance, and references. Profiles show every credential we have on file.
  • Is it normal that the pro wants cash?
    Yes — for now, all HeyAmigo jobs are paid in cash directly to the pro. We do not yet process in-app payments. The safe practice is: agree on the final price in the in-app chat before work starts (so there is a written record), and pay only when the job is complete.
  • What if a pro damages something?
    Document with photos, message the pro through HeyAmigo, and contact our support team. Every pro is required to carry the insurance for their trade, and our team can help escalate the claim.
  • How do I report a problem with a pro?
    From any job page or message thread, tap the menu and choose Report. Tell us what happened — we read every report and investigate.

Account & settings

  • How do I change my email or phone?
    Open Settings → Account. You will need to verify the new email or phone before the change takes effect.
  • I forgot my password.
    On the login screen, tap Forgot password? and follow the email link. The link expires after 30 minutes for security.
  • How do I delete my account?
    Open Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your jobs, messages, and reviews, and cannot be undone. You can also email support@heyamigo.com if you prefer.
  • How does HeyAmigo use my information?
    Pros only see your job details and zip until you message them. Your phone, full address, and email stay private until you choose to share them. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
