Privacy Policy

• We collect what we need to run the marketplace — account info, job details, messages, and how you use the app.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• Pros only see your job details and zip until you message them. Your phone, address, and email stay private until you choose to share.
• You can access, export, or delete your data anytime from Settings or by emailing us.

We collect information in three ways:

• You give it to us — name, email, phone, password, profile details, job descriptions, photos, messages, reviews.
• Automatically as you use the platform — device and browser information, IP address, approximate location (from zip and IP), and how you interact with the site or app.
• From others — for Pros, we collect verification data from licensing boards, insurance providers, and identity-verification partners. For all users, we may receive analytics data from third parties such as Google or PostHog.

We use your information to:

• Operate the marketplace — match jobs to Pros, deliver quotes, enable messaging, host reviews.
• Verify Pro credentials and prevent fraud.
• Communicate with you about jobs, account activity, and product updates.
• Improve the platform and measure how features are used.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We share your information only as needed:

• With Pros — when you post a job, Pros see the job details and your zip. Your full address, phone, and email are revealed only when you message a Pro or hire them.
• With service providers — hosting, identity verification, analytics, support tooling, and similar partners that process data on our behalf under confidentiality.
• Legal and safety — when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect users.
• Business changes — if HeyAmigo is involved in a merger or acquisition, your information may transfer to the successor under the same protections.

We do not sell your personal information.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Delete your account and your data.
• Opt out of marketing emails (transactional ones still come through).
• Limit certain analytics or advertising-related processing.

Most of these are available from Settings in the app. You can also email privacy@heyamigo.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by your jurisdiction.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. After you delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to keep records (for example, tax, fraud, or legal claims) or where the data has been aggregated and no longer identifies you.

We use industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring, and least-privilege practices. No system is perfectly secure, so do your part: use a strong unique password and let us know immediately if you suspect your account has been compromised.

HeyAmigo is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact privacy@heyamigo.com and we will remove it.

We will update this policy as our practices evolve. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or by email before they take effect. The “Effective” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
